The lodge consists of 14 bungalows nestled below the canopy of a primary rainforest. Each bungalow has been meticulously constructed of choice local hardwoods. Every bathroom is unique with sunken showers and mosiac tilework by local artists. Guests may use the lodges own private beach access to beautiful and swim safe Playa Chiquita. A new jungle pool has been added to the property, offering a much desired option for travelers. The well-acclaimed French cuisine restaurant is a favorite amongst locals and tourists. Guests dine under an impressive thatched roof rancho and open to the surrounding tropical forest gardens. The lodge enjoys solid annual occupancy rates. Net income has increased 10-20 percent year after year. The lodge has an intensive marketing campaign already in place via the internet and multiple tour agencies in Central America and worldwide. Location / Vicinity

Optimal location! Lots of privacy, but shops in walking or cycling distance. Grab your bike and ride within minutes to Puerto Viejos and the beaches. Smaller errands you do in Puerto Viejo. Here you have also a bank, physician, pharmacy and hardware store. Several buses leave daily to San Jose or Limon. By car you need about 3 hours to get to San Jose, by bus 4 hours. Until the late 1970’s, Puerto Viejo was relatively isolated from the rest of Costa Rica. Then in 1979 a new road connected the small village to the Central Valley. Electricity arrived, supplying light and other important conveniences to the town in 1986. In 1996 private phone lines became available. And in 2006 high speed Internet was offered. Today, Puerto Viejo is as modern and touristy as any beach town and yet retains its original charm. The climate is unpredictable, though common wisdom says that when the rest of Costa Rica is rainy, the southern Caribbean is drier. The best times to visit Puerto Viejo are during February, March and April or August, September and October.
