Casa Espiritu is a high quality home close to Esparza, Puntarenas. The house has 210 m² roofed space and 160m² living space. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms, a large living room, a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a large terrace, a laundry room, a storage room and a carport.
The house is of the owners own design and was built with all official plans of an assigned architect and all necessary official permissions. During house planning the owner brought in the valuable experience of two previously built homes in Costa Rica.
Along with other details he put particular emphasis in the construction on a good foundation, the usage of structural steel -above the usual required amount and the usage of almost double the quantity of high-quality cement for reaching the best concrete quality.
The house has high ceiling (living room is about 5,7 mts high) and a total surface roof isolation provide a pleasant indoor climate without air conditioning. The electrical connections for air conditioning systems are however present in the sleeping rooms. The home is equipped with high quality ceiling fans.
A generous, modern and open room layout always provide a pleasant room-climate. The large terrace (about 40m2) offers much space and a wonderful view to the garden and to evergreen woods as well as a mountain view. The complete electrical installation accomplished by a trained, professional specialist.
The electrical sockets, switches, TV-plugs are generous. The power supply is divided into several ranges and all the electric circuits are correctly installed.
The power system is correctly grounded.
Additional 220 V plugs are installed in the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, bodega and outside. The power and water supply for a pool are already installed.
An empty pipework system with connecting points for the easy installation of an alarm-system exist. TV reception best by a satellite dish with more than 100 TV stations (incl. CNN, FOX, BBC and many other stations from all over the world) and additional radio stations.
The home has 3 independent warm water heaters (2 x bathr., 1 x kitchen), so that a permanent warm-water supply is guaranteed.
All floors are finished with Spanish ceramic tiles. It also has 3 big sliding terrace glass doors and all window frames made of of aluminum because wooden windows and doors are problematic during the rainy season. The roof beams are made out of high quality teak (teak is resistant to insects).
All counter tops in kitchen and bathrooms are made of first class granite. The stove has glass top burners. The oven is a separate built-in unit with a high grade steel front.
The waste water removal is into a large septic tank. The tank has a size of 2,500 liters (this size is recommended for a household of 8 – 10 people). The tank is an industrial fabrication made of plastic because handmade tanks from stone and concrete often leak after a short time (usually unnoticed). The relatively clean waste water from the showers and of the sinks go into a large soak away. The sink in the kitchen has an inserted fat separator, so that the fat cannot be add into the sewage drain.
The property dimension is 3,652 m2 (0,9 acres), completely fenced. The nearest neighbors are about 100 m away.

Location / Vicinity

Casa Espiritu is located in a residential area close to Esparza, Puntarenas. From the terrace you can observe monkeys in the nearby woods, also parrots and other kinds of exotic birds. Numerous flowers in the garden are visited by hummingbirds. You also might meet turtles and iguanas.
By car you need only a few minutes to Esparza town center. Here you will find all shopping opportunities, several supermarkets, banks, medical doctors, dentists, gas stations, restaurants, repair shops, bakeries, high speed internet-cafés, veterinary shops, fruit and vegetable markets and much more.
A motorbus-stop is only few minutes far away from the house. Between 06:00 a.m and 06:00 p.m every 45 minutes a bus is driving to the town center.
The province capital and port “Puntarenas” (destination for many cruise ships from all over the world) with more shopping possibilities and official offices are only 30 minutes away.
The nearest beaches you can reach in 20 - 25 minutes.
Esparza town is situated directly on the Panamericana-highway. From the property the highway access is 4 km or 2miles away.So it is also easy to reach different destinations, like the Central Valley; San Jose or the airports by car or bus.
Due to the higher elevation of Esparza the temperatures are year-round very comfortable; warm but not to hot like directly on the beaches.
Interesting for horse lovers: one neighbor nearby operates a horse stable.
The property is on a hillside with a nice incline so that our sometimes strong rainfalls do not represent any problems.
