Location / Vicinity
Casa Magnifica is located in a guarded community close to Orotina which is about 1 1/2 h west of San Jose and 1 h to Puntarenas town and Punta Leona in the Gulf of Nicoya. The partly finished highway to Caldera will lead to an even faster access to the beaches of Puntarenas (start of the highway project was January 2008).
Casa Magnifica is located in an altitude of 660 meters above sea level. The famous town of Atenas is quite close and can be reached in 10 to 15 minutes by car. Orotina is 5-10 minutes away. The distance to the closest beaches is about 12 miles. The whole area is surrounded by beautiful woods with some hiking trails and places to rest. Toucans, monkeys and other colorful animals are frequent and welcome guests. The access to Casa Magnifica is in such a good condition that there is no problem driving with a standard car. There is no need for a four-wheel-drive. The internal roads in the residential have been finished recently.
