Casa Virana is located in a private residential area offering a secure and calm way of living in the hills of Atenas, which is awarded having the best climate in the world by a study made by the NASA and National Geographic. Therefore it is favored by the mayor part of the immigrants, although it takes more than an hour reaching the beaches. Perhaps the immigrants know that the highway to Caldera will be completed in 2008. This highway offers a much faster and direct access to the beaches like Puntarenas and Jaco, as well as a faster connection to San Jose. Both destination will be less than an hour away. Currently it takes a bit more than an hour depending on the daytime and traffic. Some banks, super markets, drug stores and medics can be found in the nearby Atenas village. The access to the house is good - both the public road and the roads in the residential neighborhood are in good condition. The neighborhood is friendly and tranquil. Most of them are also immigrants from the states and the rest of the world. All houses in the residential area are built by a single construction company which is specialized in that architectural style.
